Prayer For Seeking God
Are you seeking God but don't know how to start? Scripture states that if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you 1 . He is always looking down from heaven to see if anyone is seeking Him 2 . This is the time to seek God. Here is a prayer to help jumpstart you into the heart of God.
Prayer
Our Dear Father,
We come to you in the name of your son Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice at the cross broke the veil of separation between us, and has enabled us to have access to Your throne of grace. Today Father, we ask for mercy, we ask for grace 3 . Today we turn our hearts to You, for You promised in Your word that as we draw near to You, You would draw near to us 1.
We confess that we have sinned (begin confessing any sins you remember that weigh over you). We confess that we have been unfaithful to You by not seeking You consistently and instead going our own way. We have been double-minded by switching between seeking You and then seeking after the foolish lusts of the world 1. We repent of any pride we've had in thinking we could do this on our own. We repent from the pride of thinking You did not exist or were absent in our life 4. This whole time it was us who strayed from the path, for You were there all along 5.
Purify our hearts O' God, may the blood of Jesus cleanse us of our sins and iniquities 6 . We seek Your presence and Your strength to do the things we ought to do continually 7. Energize and create in us the desire for Your will and the ability to fulfill our purpose on this earth for Your good pleasure 8.
O' Father let us find You! Reveal Yourself to us as we seek You in the word and prayer. Grant us a personal encounter we won't forget! You promise that as long as we are with You, You will never forsake us 9. That as we strive after your kingdom and righteousness, You will take care of all of our needs 10, for all those who seek You lack no good thing 11. In Jesus name we pray, amen!
![Our identity is not found in how much money we make, the job we have, the amount of people that “approve” of us etc, our identity is found in CHRIST! Because of Jesus’ sacrifice our value is PRICELESS, more precious than diamonds 💎, rubies, and the finest gold!
So don’t make an idol of success. Instead find value and honor in Jesus and what he’s done for you. These are the true riches that never fade away.
James 1:9-10 AMP
Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position [as a born-again believer, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God]; [10] and the rich man is to glory in being humbled [by trials revealing human frailty, knowing true riches are found in the grace of God], for like the flower of the grass he will pass away.
