Our identity is not found in how much money we make, the job we have, the amount of people that “approve” of us etc, our identity is found in CHRIST! Because of Jesus’ sacrifice our value is PRICELESS, more precious than diamonds 💎, rubies, and the finest gold!

So don’t make an idol of success. Instead find value and honor in Jesus and what he’s done for you. These are the true riches that never fade away.

James 1:9-10 AMP
Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position [as a born-again believer, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God]; [10] and the rich man is to glory in being humbled [by trials revealing human frailty, knowing true riches are found in the grace of God], for like the flower of the grass he will pass away.

If you’re always waiting for the “right” feeling to seek God, you’ll find yourself not going to Him as you should. If anything, I’ve found that when I make move to seek God the feelings catch up afterwards.

When Jesus gave his life for us on the cross, having been whipped and mocked by the people he came to save, having been abandoned or betrayed by those he called his closest companions… I don’t think he felt profound affection and happiness, but his actions showed how much love he had for us.

Love does not hinge on feelings, but it is shown through actions.

If it were up to us, there are people we would still be close with, career changes we wouldn’t have made, and risks we wouldn’t have taken, yet life pushed us into a corner and we had to part with people, places, and circumstances against our original intention.

Does that mean our life is ruined? No! Let’s not forgot that God is completely aware of everything that’s happening, and He wants what’s best for you. Jesus said that in this life we will have trials, but we shouldn’t fear because He overcame the world (John 16:33).

That means you can have peace in every situation because He overcame it, so in Him you have victory 🎺.

God knows what’s [best] for you, He also knows what will bring you the most joy. Even though things look dark right now, trust that [better] is on the way. In the meantime:

Jesus describes to us all the benefits of being a part of his sheepfold in John 10. Take advantage of your ability to hear and be lead by God. After worship, reading your Bible, and prayer, spend some quiet time with a notebook and pen and listen quietly to what the Lord is saying to you.

At first it may seem you’re not hearing anything, but it’s training for hearing that still, small voice. Write what you think God is telling you, then hold it up against Scripture. If it aligns, obey! The more you do it, the easier it becomes to hear God. It takes faith to do this! Read John 10 until you’re convinced it’s God’s will to personally speak to you and you CAN hear Him!

Many times there’s a temptation to get approval and acceptance by man. We want a pat on the back to let us know we’re doing things right. But instead of seeking glory and recognition from men, we should be seeking approval from God. Not only does God promise us rewards, but he says that at the right time He will honor us.
